If you are looking for a quieter town but with plenty of places to eat and relax by the sea, then Ventnor is for you.
With its hilly background and sub-tropical gardens overlooking the seafront, Ventnor became very fashionable in the Victorian era. Evidence of this can still be seen around Ventnor within its architecture, public spaces and even with its beach-huts, which used to be Victorian bathing machines.
Ventnor is also home to the Botanical Gardens, a 22 acre-site, which due to its microclimate can grow plants that are usually too tender for Mainland Britain. There are plants from all over the world. The site also hosts large events and concerts. Keep an eye out for its Lizzards!
