Sandown Bay has plenty to offer for everyone.
There are more than enough beach huts, deck chairs and loungers to hire across the 8 ½ miles of beach. Sandown Bay received the Blue Flag award in 2013 and most recently the Best Beach award in 2019.
For great times with the kids there is Sandham Gardens with Dinosaur. Crazy Golf next to the Skynet’s Big Bounce and the Dinosaur Museum. Sandown also has its own Pier, which has something for everyone including arcade machines, bumper cars, bowling alley, hot doughnuts and ice-creams; It’s a whole day’s fun.
Taking things, a little slower Sandown offers its very own Zoo built within the ruins of a Victorian Fort, built to guard Sandown’s coast. The Zoo has a host of animals but mainly caring for large cats such as lions and tigers, watch out for the monkeys though.
Sandown is also the beginning of the Red Squirrel Trail, which is a dedicated walking/cycling path which leads all the way to Cowes passing through Newport. The path follows along the old Steam Railway line through the heart of beautiful countryside and wetlands.
