This modern apartment is perfectly positioned to watch the ships passing by, whilst enjoying the sunlight reflecting off the glistening waves seen through the windows. Situated at ground floor level, the sandy shores of Sandown Bay are directly opposite.
The accommodation comprises of a large open plan living/kitchen/dining area, which offers lovely views out to sea and a large smart TV, inc Netflix, Amazon & internet. There are three sofas, one that can be used as a sofa bed for one person.
The kitchen area is a modern contemporary style, with breakfast bar seating for up to 3 and includes a Nespresso machine (pods not supplied), an integral fridge/freezer, washer/dryer, dishwasher, electric oven and gas hob. The dining area seats up to 6 guests and also benefits from sea views.
The master bedroom can be made up as a super-king or a twin room; please advise your preference on booking. There is a dressing table, that can also be used as a work desk for those looking to work whilst away. This room has a stylish en-suite. The second bedroom is a twin room. The family bathroom has a bath with shower over.

Glorious Sandown Bay is on your doorstep, and voted one of the Island’s best beaches, providing a long stretch of sand and great swimming waters. Along this stretch you can see the red sandstone through to the white chalk of Culver cliff, and it is around here that fossil remains can be found. Sandham Garden’s play area is just across the road from the apartment with go karting sky nets and crazy golf and children’s play area. A short flat walk further along towards Yaverland, and you will also find the Wild Heart Animal Sanctuary formerly the isle of Wight Zoo, famous for its big cats. The town of Sandown is brimming with attractions to entertain visitors, most of them right on the beach front itself, so you never have to stray too far from the golden sands. Should you enjoy a coastal walk, you can walk the length of Sandown Bay from Yaverland past the Pier along the seaside revetment all the way to the popular neighbouring town of Shanklin. If you are keen on an active holiday, the bay is hugely popular with water-sports, and you’ll certainly see people paddle boarding, surfing, catamaran and dingy sailing, windsurfing and kite surfing, depending on the weather.

LOCATION:
There are plenty of attractions to keep all ages entertained long Sandown seafront. The Pier and glorious Sandown Bay are just a short walk down-hill from the property. Voted one of the island’s best beaches, so why not stretch your legs along the miles of golden sand or swim in the cooling water of the English Channel. The nine-mile stretch between Yaverland and Shanklin, with Sandown nestled in the middle, demonstrates the wonders of geology, with red sandstone through to the white chalk of Culver Cliff. On a lucky day, the remains of fossils can also be found! If you crave an active holiday, the bay is hugely popular with water sports and you’ll be sure to see people paddle boarding, surfing, windsurfing and kite surfing or catamaran and dingy sailing; weather dependent.
A short walk towards Yaverland, you will also find the Wild Heart Animal Sanctuary, famous for its big cats. The sanctuary, formerly the Isle of Wight Zoo, gained further recognition due to the owner’s relationship with the naturalist and TV presenter Chris Packman. PLEASE NOTE:
Guests can choose to either pay a non-refundable damage waiver of £40 or provide a pre-authorised security deposit of £200 before check-in.
If the security deposit option is selected, no money will be taken unless damage is reported at the property within 7 days after departure.
This property can accept a maximum of 1 pet(s). The charge is £35 per pet, per week and we kindly ask that you bring your own bedding for your pet(s). Please ensure that you correctly add your pet(s) when making your booking, so this additional cost is included. If it becomes apparent that you have brought a pet(s) with you but did not advise us, we will contact you to request payment separately.
There is no electric car charger on site and guests are prohibited from using the mains electric in the property to charge a car. If it becomes apparent a car is being charged without approval, then the guest may be charged an additional amount to cover the extra cost.
The Island Holiday Company are responsible for the full management of this property and should you need to contact us during your stay we are available between 9-5 Monday to Friday, We also operate an out of hours emergency service on the weekends - please refer to your property brochure left inside the property, for further information and contact details.
No stag or hen parties are permitted at any of our properties.
There is a strict no smoking/vaping policy, inside all our properties.
Linens and towels are provided, but please bring your own beach towels and cot linen as necessary.
Please be respectful of the property and the neighbours during your stay; leaving the property as you found it on your arrival A breach of the above rules and guidelines could mean forfeiture of the Security Deposit.

Exactly what we needed modern facilites and right on the beach!

The apartment was exactly as advertised. Modern and spacious and a few steps away from the beach and family activities. Restaurants were nearby and so were the local shops including Salisbury and co-op. We all enjoyed our stay and we hope to go back see more

Our only regret was that it was not during summer where we could go for a swim in the sea as well.

We have stayed at this apartment a few times now and every time have felt comfortable and pleased with our choice. The location is great because you open your front door and you're looking straight out to the sea and just have to cross the road to besee more

The location is great because you open your front door and you're looking straight out to the sea and just have to cross the road to be walking along the sea front It was lovely and clean when we arrived and had everything that we needed. We have two small children too and the apartment is a short 5 min walk from a brilliant play ground which we used during our stay too. We are already looking forward to coming to stay again!

Well appointed, modern accommodation. Excellent access to the beaches, pier and town centre. Wildheart Animal Sanctuary, Dinosaur Isle museum and other activities on the doorstep. Private parking space and lift.

For the price we paid we were expecting minimum of a shower gel.
Beds creaky and uncomfortable couldn’t sleep at all.
Bed is the most important requirement for any accommodation which was disappointing.

Gorgeous apartment, really clean and looked exactly like the pictures. Great location too, next door to Sandham Gardens, 30 second walk to the Bandstand restaurant, 5 minutes walk to Sandown Esplanade & High Street. Will definitely stay again

We loved our stay at Colonels Apartment. The apartment was clean and welcoming upon our arrival. The location was perfect! It was amazing to open our front door and see the beach and the sea. It is literally a stones throw from the beach which was idsee more
