New for the Summer Season of 2023, this pretty holiday cottage, is situated in the peaceful village of Shalfleet, and can be found within the northern end of the grounds of the owners own family residence Shalfleet House.

Located within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and a stone’s throw of the breath-taking Newtown Nature Reserve, it’s just perfect for couples and families wishing to enjoy the West Wight and is a great choice, whether it be for a full week’s holiday or just a short break it's also dog friendly too.

A single storey self-contained cottage, providing ideal accommodation for up to four guests, There is ample parking for up to two vehicles adjacent to the property and it has its own enclosed garden area with patio, garden furniture and BBQ.
Internally you have a choice of two interconnecting double-bedrooms to choose from, there is a cosy lounge to snuggle up in front of the wood burner and a Smart WiFI connected TV (no aerial) You will also find a well equipped kitchen, separate dining room and modern shower room.

The owners are also more than happy for you make use of the on-site tennis court, if you want to brush up on your backhand and serve, Just let them know during your stay ahead of time when you would like to use the facilities so they can ensure its available for your use.

The Isle of Wight has some fantastic beaches to explore, Totland Bay is less than a twenty minute drive away where you will find a bar, restaurant and a café to try the local seafood, experience some of the finest sunsets or enjoy a stroll along to neighbouring Colwell Bay. There are spectacular views across the Solent to mainland England, with clear, calm waters and a gentle sloping sand and shingle beach.

The island has become a real hot spot for cycling enthusiasts with a choice of challenging off road bridleways, peaceful byways and level purpose-made tracks running along a former railway line. Cycle to the famous Needles landmark or take on the full round the island route, which is 66 miles long and is used for the annual Isle of Wight Randonnee held over the May bank holiday. You can also travel along the route at a more leisurely pace and along the way you will find numerous restaurants, pubs and cafés, amongst the quaint villages and towns serving tasty local produce.
One of the Isle of Wight’s best kept secrets, Compton, offers a 2 mile stretch of contrasting dark and golden sands, with rolling seas, and a stunning backdrop of multi-coloured sandstone cliffs. It’s also a great place to go fossil hunting, and you can book tours on the beach to see the dinosaur footprints in the sandstone ledge at Hanover Point that are exposed at low tide. The Isle of Wight has plenty to offer.

Shower room: single shower cubicle, toilet, sink with vanity unit beneath and heated towel rail

Enclosed garden with grass and patio, including garden furniture and barbecue
Allocated parking for 2 vehicles adjacent to the property

Tennis Court, you are most welcome to use the court, please just make sure you speak with the owners first, to let them know when you intend to use it, so they can ensure its ready and cleared for your use.

ADDITIONAL:

PLEASE NOTE: a pre-authorised, refundable, security deposit will be required a week before arrival at the property. No money is taken unless damage is reported at the property within 14 days of departure.


Arrival time: 16.00 onwards / Departure time: 10:00a.m.

This property can accept a maximum of 1 dog. The charge is £35 per dog, per week and we kindly ask that you bring your own dog bedding. Please ensure that you correctly add your pet(s) when making your booking, so this additional cost is included. If it becomes apparent that you have brought a pet(s) with you but did not advise us, we will contact you to request payment separately.

There is no electric car charger on site and guests are prohibited from using the mains electric in the property to charge a car, unless agreed with the Owner of the property. If it becomes apparent a car is being charged without prior approval, then the guest may be charged an additional amount to cover the extra cost.

Initial logs for wood burner will be supplied at the beginning of your stay. Guests will be required to purchase more if required.

There is a strict no smoking policy.

Linens and towels are provided, but please bring your own beach towels and cot linen as necessary.

Kindly be respectful of the property and the neighbours during your stay; leaving the property as you found it on your arrival.

A breach of the rules and guidelines could mean forfeiture of the Security Deposit.

Location

The small village of Shalfleet is located in the heart of the Island’s Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with its stunning coastal scenery, the area offers a varied choice for walkers, cyclists and outdoor pursuits enthusiasts. Great for families and couples, there is plenty to see and do, with the cottage located only a short distance from a wonderful part of the coast known as Newtown Estuary. The estuary has been designated as a National Nature Reserve by Natural England, one of only 200 in England.

There is an 18th century pub within walking distance of the cottage and a local convenience store nearby too.

The picturesque harbour town of Yarmouth is 3 miles away with a range of shops, restaurants, The George Hotel, and a frequent ferry service to Lymington. The natural harbour and nature reserve of Newtown is about a 20-minute walk. The world-renowned sailing centre of Cowes is a 20-minute drive where there is also a high-speed passenger ferry service to Southampton. The immediate surrounding countryside is designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with excellent walking and riding available on the network of country and coastal lanes and paths providing some dramatic scenery. In addition to sailing and a range of other water sports on the waters surrounding the island there is an array of outdoor country sports to take advantage of.

Your cottage is a perfect little holiday retreat in a gorgeous peaceful setting, Thank you for being such an attentive hostess. Yarmouth is a very quaint little village not far from here , but there is so much to do and see on this lovely Island.
