Description

St Rhadagunds Cottage East, is a well presented, dog friendly holiday home that can comfortably accommodate up to eight guests, it has a double bedroom with en-suite facilities on the ground floor, ideal for less mobile visitors. There’s also a well-equipped kitchen leading through to the dining room/conservatory, a cosy living room with Smart TV and log burner and a utility room/side entrance which can be used to store your bicycles. On the first floor are three spacious, double bedrooms one of which has en-suite facilities. The rear aspect rooms offer views towards the English Channel, whilst across the hall is a family bathroom. On the top floor is a children’s playroom, a lovely place for kids to escape and provide the adults with some peace and quiet.
Outside you can enjoy an evening meal on the sunken terrace before challenging one another to a game of table tennis. Both cottages have an enclosed, 3-tiered garden and when booked together on request, the garden gates can be opened up between the two properties so all guests can enjoy the facilities.

St Rhadagunds Cottages can be found in an area known as the undercliff, a unique location between the cliff and the sea which provides a micro-climate, an ideal haven for a variety of flora and fauna, many species of which are only found in Mediterranean countries. The surrounding coastline gives access to beaches and coves such as Woody Bay and Steephill.
Ventnor is just over two miles away where you will find a number of lovely seaside tea shops, pubs and restaurants dotted along the esplanade. There are also some quirky and bespoke shops, a park and a children’s paddling pool. The town, which for the most part is built on the steep hill leading to the beach, retains its original seaside charm and makes a great day out for all the family.
Sea and cliff walks can be found along the coastal paths in both directions from the property, and outdoor pursuits on the island are well catered for. There are numerous attractions to discover for all ages, including The Needles with its chairlift, amusement park, boat rides, lighthouse and coloured sands of Alum Bay. Why not pay a visit to Queen Victoria’s favourite holiday residence, Osborne House and Gardens, Blackgang Chine, the oldest themed attraction in the UK, Ventnor Botanical Gardens, Tapnell Farm Park, Carisbrooke Castle or the sailing towns of Yarmouth and Cowes.

Well, our first self-catering experience couldn’t have wowed us more, from the well-stocked kitchen, fluffy towels and comfy mattresses – it truly was a home away from home. Henry was super, adding personal little touches which were most welcome and such a nice surprise, its hard to leave those sea-views behind.

This is a fantastic house and from the moment we arrived it felt like home. Henry the caretaker has been so great, we couldn’t have asked for more. A dream holiday with memories we will treasure for the rest of our lives. We have two Labradors and they had a great time too!

Our Christmas week has been everything we could have wished for. The Property has been very well stocked with home essentials and good quality broadband for our children- thank you! Our plan was to relax for a few days and to enjoy the Island and we leave today having achieved that. Thanks for everything.

The most beautiful house with stunning views of the sea. The house is deceptively large, the rooms are big and light and airy. Everything has been thought about very carefully and we didnt Want for anything. The garden table tennis table is a nice touch but you may get hot tub envy of the property next door! They don’t have ping pong and their garden isn’t as big however!! There’s a post office just down the hill and some lovely walks around the property. The caretaker is on hand should you need him. There’s plenty of parking which is shared with the adjoined property. The garden is secure should you take your dog. The neighbours are quiet and the area is peaceful. You will need to use your car to go to attractions/esplanade/shops etc and the roads surrounding the house are very steep with very tight bends. We had an absolutely wonderful holiday with our family and parents, lots of fabulous memories made. Will be looking to book the same property next year.

We had an amazing week in the Isle of Wight the house was stunning, in a beautiful location with nice fixtures and fittings and a beautiful garden. The kitchen was very well equipped and there was plenty of space in the house. The grounds around the property were lovely and plenty of parking for our two vehicles. The housekeeper was very approachable too
